Aislinn – First Archery Event

(On a non-music related post…)
I didn’t know what to expect at my first archery tournament… the event wasn’t far by car – but on setting off the weather had turned to a very British heavy rain. Not knowing what to expect I was gutted to see nearly everyone had brought tents to rest in between rounds – and many people had hot thermos flasks and oven hobs as well…I realised I was pretty unprepared-I had even forgotten my brolly. Bit daft.
I passed the next hour feeling like an idiot under my makeshift rain shelter by a tree, trying to keep my bow dry. I was very grateful when fellow archer Lynn and a lovely gent kindly lent me a brolly and a coat!
The competition incorporated a team and an individual event, the team event was composed of a longbow, compound, and recurve archer (me). The Jolly Archers team had a great run – and won it! After that was the individual recurve comp  and I came second in the individual. The others in my team all share the trophy but they were really cool and said I could take it home first :)
